One of the biggest challenges of growing up as an adopted mix race child from the Vietnam war is finding your identity. The Vietnamese term "bụi đời" translates to"life of dust", or "dusty life".... Thousands of children of mixed race were born and orphaned in Vietnam during the war, and were in most cases, fathered by military service members serving there. They were referred to by the derogatory term, "Children of the Dust"....The lowest of life. Many of these children were a mix of two nations, but wanted by neither. "Intersections" explores these challenges, among many others, that still haunts many of these "Children of the Dust" nearly 5 decades later. "Great things are done by a series of small things brought together" -Vincent van Gogh The unique, diverse, and ever evolving nature of all these stories coming together to paint the complete picture makes this production very fluid and ever changing. We have all known from the very beginning that each story individually is inspirational and represents various, yet different stages in our journeys but more importantly, that there is a much more powerful story to be told collectively to share the messages of hope, healing, and connections. As these story lines have continued to develop, and layers are added, the messaging in this project are growing exponentially and as such, the decision has been made to premier "Intersections" through a variety of film festivals rather than an online Thanksgiving Day debut. As a result, the premier for season 1 of "Intersections" is projected to be sometime in Spring of 2022. We will make the announcement, once an official venue and date are confirmed. We believe that this will allow the project to touch many more lives and have a positive impact on those that need it most.
